Specialty Orthopaedics is proud to be Westchester’s foremost orthopedic group providing world-class foot and ankle surgery solutions.

Foot or ankle surgery is indicated for patients suffering from a number of common disorders:

  • Plantar Fasciitis and Heel spurs
  • Heel bustitis
  • Foot bunions
  • Foot and ankle arthritis
  • Achilles Tendon disorders – Achilles tendonitis and ruptures
  • Ankle pain and swelling
  • Heel, arch pain and swelling
  • Forefoot pain – pain in the ball of the foot
  • Diabetic foot conditions (neuropathy, ulcers, Charcot foot)
  • Foot and ankle nerve disorders – tarsal tunnel syndrome, morton’s neuroma, compressive neuropathies

Specialty Orthopaedics only suggests operative surgery if conservative treatments indicates a surgical solution.

Ankle Surgery

The most common types of ankle surgeries are ankle arthroscopy, ankle fusion, arthroplasty, and ankle replacement.

Ankle surgery is indicated after conservative techniques – activity modification, anti-inflammatory medication (cortisone treatments), orthopedic shoes or bracing – still leave patients in pain.

Heel & Foot Surgery

The most common types of foot surgeries performed at Specialty Orthopaedics include:
  • Bunionectomy
  • Flat foot surgery
  • Non-invasive shock wave orthotripsy (for plantar fasciitis)
  • Reconstructive foot surgery

Foot surgery may be indicated if more conservative techniques do not relieve pain. Surgery is a last resort; however, foot surgery may result in the most comfortable solution for your heel or foot pain.
